Applied AI Engineer, Ex-Founder
I'm Dan.
I’ve been programming since I was 11, when I first taught myself Unity and C#.
While studying Computer Science at the University of Michigan, I launched over a dozen mobile apps — including games that surpassed 100,000 downloads — and collaborated with top mobile game studios like Voodoo and Lion Studios.
After college I created MintyBrain, an educational startup that aimed to make math visual, intuitive, and interactive for kids. We reached thousands of users, raised $1M in funding, and assembled a small team to bring it to life.
In 2022 it became clear that generative AI would reshape education more profoundly than what we were building. I reimagined the product as an AI-powered math tutor, solo-building agent frameworks, tool calling, prompting logic, a lesson scripting language, and a full AI toolchain in C#.
But after two more years of building, Unity’s ecosystem proved limiting, lacking support for modern LLM workflows. I was reinventing the stack while others leveraged emerging AI libraries to accelerate.
I made the hard decision to wind the company down and refocus on where the future of AI is moving.
I’m now exploring the frontier of AI infrastructure — building AI-native data pipelines, tracking the global buildout across compute, energy, and chips, and developing agentic systems that reason over complex data to generate insight and action.
