About Me

I'm Dan.

I fell in love with math, science, and programming at a young age.

I started teaching myself game development at 11, and have been building in Unity and C# every day for the last 15 years.

While studying Computer Science at the University of Michigan, I launched 10 mobile apps and worked with top Hyper-Casual game studios Voodoo and Lion Studios.

I became obsessed with Jess Schell's concept that "a video game is a machine that takes the human mind on a journey."

I pitched my idea for a game-based learning experience to teach kids STEM subjects in a visual and self-directed way, and I won entrepreneurship competitions that enabled me to pursue my vision full-time after college.

I called the company MintyBrain.

I spent 3 years solo-developing MintyBrain's first app, MintyBrain Math Arcade, which is now available for free. The feedback from thousands of customers and the core technology I built for Math Arcade were the necessary precursors to MintyBrain's next chapter.

MintyBrain is now creating a new product that leverages AI and advanced game development to bring a world class math tutor onto your child's iPad. MintyBrain is backed by $1m+ of seed funding and is currently hiring.

I am on a mission to solve Bloom's Two Sigma Problem and put an intelligent learning companion in the hands of every child.
